Boning knife - A boning knife is a type of kitchen knife with a sharp point and narrow blade. Commonly used for food preparation, for removing the bones of poultry, meat, and fish.

Carving knife - This is a large knife between 8 to15 inches long that is used to slice thin cuts of meat, poultry, roasts, hams, and other large cooked meats. Ceramic Knife - These knives stay sharp longer than steel knives. Ceramic knives are also extremely brittle and will shatter or crack when used to pry. They chip on the edge if used roughly. Usually, though, the edge will merely chip when dropped. Ceramic knives do not shatter easily unlike the porcelain type. These type of knives are more versatile that it can be use for fish fillet, carve steak, ripe tomatoes and slice veggies thiner than any type of knife could.

Kitchen shears - Technically speaking, these are not considered as knives, kitchen shears have lots of functions when introduced in the kitchen. It has a strong blade, most of them serrated, can cut out the backbone of a chicken. It can also chop tough pieces of dried fruits. Thus making it a versatile tool.

Tomato Knife - Tomato knife is a small serrated kitchen knife designed to slice through tomatoes and peeling it without damaging the inside. The serrated edge allows the knife to penetrate the tomatoes skin quickly and with a minimum of pressure. Most tomato knives have forked tips to lift and move the tomato slices after they have been cut.

Cheese knife - The cheese knife blade has a square cutouts to minimize the cheese from sticking. Cheese slices can be more even when using a cheese knife. Like tomato knives , some of the cheese knife have forked tips to help transfer slices to the containers.
